Behind the scenes I’ve been working on putting together a new community that I’m calling Hacker Overflow.
I hoping that it will be a community of software builders and doers.
And I'm envisioning something that acts a bit like a cross of MasterClass + Hacker News + Stack Overflow. The plan is that members will get unlimited access to:
Live coding sessions & classes about once a month on a variety of tech topics and showing how to build real stuff (I’m hoping to run the first live session towards the end of July).
A live & active community (connected via a Discord server).
A bunch of private code repos (lots of code ready for copy/paste use and/or to learn from).
A collection and archive of curated videos from real devs who know and use the tech (practical lessons, advice & tips).
Code reviews, bug fixing help, & just general help from people in the community (just a few of us to start, but ideally others as I continue to build the community up).
Networking and learning with other, actual, devs.
Could you find all this stuff online already?
Probably.
But it would take a big effort, potentially cost a bunch, be very disjointed, and even still I think based on all the code academies, courses, and general noise out there...there is no shortage of appetite for this type of thing (IMHO).
So I’m attempting to build it.
And would love to have you reach out (email, DM, or just comment below) if you’re interested in being a part of the launch!
Would really love to be part of that when it launches!
Looking forward to contributing more video content and putting together a brief live ML course as well.
